2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO Review

If you're a car person, then the odds are good you've heard of NISMO. If you haven't, then you are in for a treat. NISMO is an abbreviation for NISsan MOtorsports International Limited and is the race and rally car design and development arm of Nissan. Founded in 1984, the NISMO badge on a Nissan has always meant high-performance and a high price tag. However, according to Nissan, the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO will be the first affordable Nissan to ever get the full NISMO treatment. While it won't be released until January, the experts at Route 33 Nissan wanted to get a head start and give you a preview of this sporty but reasonable performance vehicle from Nissan.

Affordable Power

When you check under the hood of the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO you'll find an exciting A 1.6-liter DIG turbocharged DOHC 16-valve inline-four engine that produces 188 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 177 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600-5200 rpm. Because it has to live up to the NISMO name, you'll be happy to know that the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO has a re-tuned suspension that gives drivers added body stiffness thanks to custom-tuned independent struts and torsion beam suspension, and monotube rear dampers. You get full control with the six-speed transmission, a 106.3-inch wheelbase, 10.5:1 compression ratio, and 18-inches aluminum-alloy NISMO wheels that come with P215/45R18 all-season tires. All of this performance also comes with complimentary 36 months or 36,000 miles Nissan Roadside Assistance that covers flat-tire changes, trip interruption benefits, jump starts, and emergency fuel delivery.

Luxury and Style

While the NISMO name is synonymous with racecar level performance, it also has a great deal to do with luxury and comfort. You get NISMO-branded front sport seats, two-tone, red-and-black Alcantara and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, red NISMO tachometer, and carbon fiber look interior accents. The 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO is packed with the latest technology including NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, Nissan Voice Recognition for audio and navigation, SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link, and Bose Premium Audio system with eight speakers. When you see the exterior of the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO, you will be invigorated by the branded side skirts, dark chrome V-Motion grille and door handles. It not only performs like a sports car, it looks like one as well.

The final piece of the puzzle is the high-level safety that comes with the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO. Much like the other 2017 Nissan Sentra trims, you are protected by the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System that features dual-stage supplemental front air bags, front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection. The Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones is also a plus.

While we haven't had a chance to drive the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO, the sales and service team at Route 33 Nissan are excited about getting the opportunity. To learn more about this and all of the 2017 Nissan cars, trucks, and SUVs please visit our website or contact us today.
